5 Tips On How To Reach Your Goals In 2022 Like a Boss

Ready to kill it in 2022?

As cliche as it sounds, 2021 was a challenging year for many. 2020 definitely sucked ass, but 2021 was a huge relief: restaurants were opening back up, there was finally a vaccine made for COVID-19, and people were seeing each out face to face more often.

But because of quarantine and many financial setbacks many people have experienced, perhaps achieving your goals was put on hold due to mainly just having to survive.

Now that many of us are back on our feet and out of “survival mode”, it’s time to dig deep and work towards our goals and aspirations. Now that 2021 is ending, let’s fuckin’ kill it in 2022.

Here are 5 keys points to remember when you set your goals like a boss:

1. Make Your Goals
Specific

Think of hitting your goals like an archer pulling a string on a target. You can wield the bow and arrow, but if you don’t know where your target is, where will you aim?

The same holds true of goals. You can have the willpower, determination, and passion to achieve something in the upcoming year, but if you don’t know where you’ll be heading, where will all that energy go?

As important as the journey is, the destination is also just as important.

2. Make Your Goals
Measurable

This goes hand-in-hand with making the goal specific. There should be a metric on how you would know you achieved your goal.

If you make your goal measurable, which you should, you can then track progress, which means you will know how close or far you are from achieving it at all times. I mean, wouldn’t you want to know when you’re almost done hitting your goal?

3. Make Your Goals
Actionable

There should be some sort of work or action that you can put forth
.

You have to actually be able to work towards your goal and it can’t be based on luck. Sure, many people get lucky achieving what they want, but how often can you replicate luck?

4. Make Your Goals
Realistic

Being real and authentic with yourself is tough, but so can being fake and lying to yourself about what you can accomplish.

Don’t set goals that are impossible, but set goals that are within your realm of possibility.

This doesn’t mean you can’t think outside of the box or push yourself to hit something you’ve never achieved before.
But you should shoot toward something you don’t already have.

5. Set a Timeline of Your
Goals

Set a deadline of when you would want to achieve the goals you set.

Don’t take forever to do it, but set a date and/or time of when you would like to complete it.

A good way to figure this out would be to map out how long it would take you to complete each step towards your goal and having the deadline be when you finish all the steps.

With all that said…

If you didn’t notice already, the five key points to this blog, when stacked on top of each other, spell out “SMART”. The method of using these 5 key points is also known as setting “SMART” goals. I mean, you’d be a fool if you set goals without even trying to nail one of these points, but striving to identify all 5 of these points will definitely paint a roadmap to where you want to go.
